WE BELIEVE IN SOUND

We believe in sound that speaks.  We believe in the power of music to bring people together.

This site began as Eight O’Clock Rocks - a simple way to share recordings with friends I’d sung with. It was a place to listen back, reflect, and grow together.  Most of the tracks were recorded informally, in a spirit of joy, connection and community.

What began as a small collection of shared songs slowly became something more. Others began to wander in, stay for a song or two, and return.

Over time, the site has grown into a space to share music created simply for the love of it.  Some tracks have been digitally polished and gently refined with a touch of AI assistance—always with the hope of making the listening experience warmer, clearer, and more enjoyable.

If you’ve found your way here, you’re warmly invited to stay and listen.

Just a heads-up: most, if not all, of these are original pieces, so the tunes might be new to you at first.  Give them a few listens, and you might just find one that sticks.  Expect a few rough edges, and a lot of heart.

Hey, I'm Mike.  Back in the day, they called me Eight O'clock Rocks, because that was when I'd clock out of my day job to meet up, sing, and write songs as a side gig.

What started at 8 became a lifelong rhythm.  I got totally hooked on making music.  These days, I don't wait for 8, I create music whenever inspiration strikes.

My work bridges Singapore and Los Angeles, anchored by deep creative roots and enduring collaborations across California.  I'm also grateful to be part of meaningful projects around the world.
